Victorian Ivory Raw Silk Set

Heavenly Victorian-era ivory raw silk set with blouse and skirt.

Bodice blouse has an incredible silhouette with pigeon breast and big mutton sleeves. Delicate handmade white lace runs down the front and fantastic pin tuck & pleated details throughout. The blouse has hook and eye closures in the front that open to another inner bodice panel lining that also has hook & eye closures. On the model, the blouse waist is not hooked on the last closure for a more open and comfortable fit.

Skirt is simple yet stunning with a large, full and long sweep, handmade delicate lace trim and pin-tucks at hemline. Hook and eye closures at the waist. Waist is gathered in the back with room for a bustle if desired, otherwise it falls naturally while being slightly longer in the back. On the model, skirt was held at waist by a pin because it was too small to fasten all the way.

Condition: this set is in incredible condition for its age. The raw silk is sturdy & durable, very wearable. I washed this set several times and it has come up like new and very clean. There is one tiny fleck of an ink stain by the shoulder and a few hook & eye closures have been replaced.
